A seminar on making unique Moroccan tea “Atay” will be held on Saturday, December 8th in Cultural centre Grad.

Atay “Moroccan Tea” is a hot drink from Moroccan tea and mint. Moroccan tea is a traditional beverage in the Kingdom of Morocco. The tea is always present at the Moroccan table, poetry events, and various other cultural manifestations, as well as other social events.

Moroccan tea began to appear in the middle of the 19th Century when the trade with Europe started. It is more likely that the arrival of tea in Morocco was during the reign of Sultan Mulai Ismail, when he received sugar and tea as a gift. European Monarchs presented this to the Sultan, as a motivation to enshure the release of the European prisoners.

Participation for the workshop which is going to be held by our dear friends from Morocco will cost 400 rsd. Number of participants is limited.

Applications to be sent on: deli@gradbeograd.eu, and if there is still more free places you could also apply half an hour before the event, in Cultural centre Grad.

After the workshop, delicious tea will be served with special traditional Moroccan cookies.
